Erica Schaefer
DIRECTOR OF SEDGEBROOK AT HOME, BSN, RN

Erica brings over a decade of nursing and leadership experience to her role at Sedgebrook at Home. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, she served 12 years as a Master-at- Arms Petty Officer First Class before earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oklahoma State University in 2015. Since then, Erica has worked in medical-surgical nursing, hospice care, and held leadership roles including Director of Nursing and Hospice Director.
Erica joined the Sedgebrook community in 2024 and now leads a dedicated team providing compassionate, personalized in-home care. She is passionate about fostering a culture of dignity, independence, and well-being for residents.
Outside of work, Erica enjoys life as a military spouse, volunteers with the Lincoln Theater in Decatur, IL, and serves on the board of Habitat for Humanity. A devoted animal lover and Dolly Parton fan, she lives with heart, humor, and a deep commitment to lifting others up.

Jennifer Fisher
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF HOME CARE

As Assistant Director of Home Care at Sedgebrook, Jennifer Fisher brings over 20 years of senior living experience, with the last eight years dedicated to home care services. Since joining our community in 2022, she has been instrumental in overseeing daily operations and ensuring residents receive personalized, quality care.
Jennifer’s passion lies in the meaningful interactions she has with residents and the lasting bonds she builds with both residents and their families. With her bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, she leads a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional home care services that allow residents to thrive in the comfort of their own homes.

Angela McIntosh
HOME CARE TRAINING MANAGER

Angela brings over 40 years of healthcare experience and a passion for lifelong learning to her role at Sedgebrook at Home. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, she served as a Hospital Corpsman during Desert Shield and Desert Storm while simultaneously pursuing her education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh. She later earned a master’s degree in Business Management and built a diverse career that includes time as a flight attendant and mother of two college graduates.
Angela joined Sedgebrook at Home in its earliest days, becoming one of the first PRNs hired when the program launched in 2019. Since then, she has held multiple leadership roles, including Care Coordinator and Training Coordinator, before stepping into her current role. Today, she ensures Sedgebrook caregivers are well-equipped to deliver compassionate, high-quality care through hands-on training, CPR and First Aid certification, and ongoing support. Outside of work, Angela is a proud wife, mother, and Navy veteran.
What Is Your Why: “I look forward to coming to work at Sedgebrook every day. Seeing the caregivers in the community carefully engaging with their residents often leaves a smile on my face letting me know I have done my job during training.”
